Hikvision Device Release & Unbinding
Inherited a CCTV system you can't take ownership of? We release Hikvision equipment from previous owners' Hik-Connect accounts so you can claim it as your own.
Hik-Connect saying 'device already added by another user'? We can release it.
Bought a house, taken over a lease, or picked up a Hikvision NVR second hand? Send us photos of the label and proof of ownership, most releases clear within one working day.
Team available now, no call centres, real engineer answers.
Ownership Transfer
Take Ownership of Inherited Hikvision Equipment
Hikvision equipment that's been registered to someone else's Hik-Connect account is essentially locked out of yours. The hardware is fine, the cabling is fine, but Hikvision's cloud platform refuses to let a second account claim the same serial number until the original binding is officially released.
We submit the release request directly through Hikvision's authorised partner channel, supplying the proof-of-ownership documentation needed to clear the equipment for transfer to your account.
Locked out of the recorder itself rather than just the app? See our Hikvision password reset service. Replacing the system entirely? Look at our Hikvision installation service.
Typical Customers We Help
New Homeowners
You've completed on a property and the existing CCTV is still tied to the previous occupier, who's no longer reachable.
Landlords & Letting Agents
Tenant has moved out leaving the building's CCTV bound to their personal Hik-Connect account.
Second-Hand Buyers
Bought a Hikvision DVR or NVR online and the seller forgot, or refused, to release it from their account.
Business Owners
Bought premises where the outgoing business installed Hikvision equipment that's still on their commercial account.
Proof of Ownership Required
Hikvision's release process is strict. We'll only proceed once we have evidence linking you to the property, business or transaction, protecting genuine owners from theft and misuse.
The Release Process
A simple four-step paperwork exercise that gets your equipment cleared without any visit to your property.
Initial Enquiry
Tell us how you came to own the equipment and which devices need releasing.
Documentation
Email serial-number photos plus your proof of ownership for each device.
Submission
We lodge the official release request with Hikvision on your behalf.
Cleared & Yours
Once approved, scan the QR sticker and the device joins your Hik-Connect account.
Why Not Just Factory-Reset It?
A common misconception. Performing a factory reset on a Hikvision DVR, NVR or camera wipes the local configuration, but it does nothing to the cloud-side binding stored on Hikvision's servers.
The serial number remains flagged as 'already registered' until the original account holder releases it manually, or until we submit the official release paperwork on your behalf. There is no DIY workaround that bypasses this, it's a deliberate security feature.
The only legitimate route is the manufacturer-approved release process. That's exactly what we provide.
