Access Control Systems, From One Door to a Whole Site
Fobs, cards, keypads, apps and networked platforms installed across Medway, Kent and South East London, with the lock and the escape route designed as carefully as the reader.
Choosing the Right Type of System
Access control ranges from a single keypad on a back door to a networked platform managing thousands of credentials. Overspecifying wastes money, underspecifying means you are back to changing locks within a year. The honest answer usually sits at one of these three levels.
Standalone, one door
A keypad or fob reader with credentials stored at the door. Cheapest to fit and perfectly adequate for a stock room, a side gate or a small unit. No logging, and codes have to be changed manually when someone leaves.
Networked, multiple doors
Paxton Net2 and similar platforms, where one database controls every door. Issue and revoke credentials centrally, restrict people by door and by time, and pull a report of who went where. This is what most businesses actually need.
Communal and residential
Blocks of flats, HMOs and gated developments, where fobs have to be issued and cancelled as tenants move, and where the entrance panel and the door release matter more than any software feature.
Related pages: access control installation, door entry systems and CCTV, which is often paired with door events to turn a log into evidence.
The Part Most Quotes Skip: Doors and Escape
A reader is the easy half. The hard half is the door: whether it is a fire door, whether it holds alignment through summer and winter, whether the frame will take a strike, and how anybody gets out in an emergency without needing a credential at all.
We fit mechanical free exit on escape routes so leaving the building never depends on electronics, and any fire alarm interface is agreed with whoever is responsible for the building rather than decided on site. If a door needs remedial work before access control will behave, we tell you at survey.
